Stroll Through Windrush Planation on the LSU Rural Life Museum Tour
On the LSU Rural Life Museum Tour, you will travel via mini motor coach through downtown Baton Rouge to the center of Baton Rouge. While touring you will be hearing interesting facts about Baton Rouge and Louisiana, and then you will arrive at the Rural Life Museum where you will be amazed!
On the LSU Rural Life Museum and Burden Gardens Tour, guests will be awestruck with the extensive collection of artifacts and buildings that specifically pertain to rural life in 19th and early 20th century Louisiana and the Lower Mississippi Valley. The tour consists of the museum and its grounds which are divided into 3 areas: the barn, the working plantation, and the Louisiana cultural area.
The museum is dedicated to representing the common working man of Louisiana. It is not your common plantation tour of the "grand plantations" most people think of when they think of a Southern plantation.
There will be docents who will guide guests through the museum portion of the tour, as well as guests enjoying a short film, prior to the tour. Guests will enjoy interactive and participatory activities and demonstrations on-site during their tour. We do have a pick-up location on River Road. We look forward to having an adventure with you!
The Crossing Apartments, the premier apartments in Denham Springs, Louisiana, is inviting friends and neighbors to attend this unforgettable event!
