Do you want to learn how to develop characters that evoke emotion? Interested in bettering your writing technique? If so, be sure to check out a special fiction workshop by Chris Tusa, Creating and Developing Compelling Characters. Check it out on Wednesday, July 10th at 7:00 p.m.
During this fiction workshop, writers will learn specific techniques and strategies focused on developing unique, memorable characters. Aside from focusing on voice, agency, interiority, and memory as critical elements of character in fiction, the workshop will also explore other aspects of character development as they relate to tension, dialogue, and plot.
Students will complete weekly writing exercises, readings, and at the end of the workshop, all students will receive personal feedback in response to their submitted work. All ages, all skill levels, and novels of all genres are welcome.
Instructor Chris Tusa is a published author and holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Florida. Aside from acting as Managing Editor of Fiction Southeast, he divides his time between teaching full-time in the English Department at LSU and acting as contributing writer for Country Roads Magazine.
