For nearly five decades, acclaimed singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III has cultivated a rabid following. Early in his career, Loudon was declared “the next Bob Dylan.” His personal songs about an interesting and sometimes dysfunctional life are unmatched in the music industry. Now, hear his thoughts on a life well-lived when he performs live at Manship Theatre on Friday, October 19th.
Wainwright has proved to be far and away the most candid diarist among the singer-songwriters who brought confessional poetry into popular song. Mr. Wainwright wrings more human truth out of his contradiction than any other songwriter of his generation.
With 25 original albums to his credit and a number of compilations (including a massive box set), Loudon's fans have a contact supply of his interesting observations. In addition, Wainwright is a famed character actor and often appears in the films of Judd Apatow, both in person and in song.
Loudon will deliver a solo performance at Manship Theatre this Friday. The concert will be opened by Dayna Kurtz. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend performances.
